What is it?
The Amputee Hammock Sling is suitable for amputee end users who are not comfortable in a divided leg sling. Shaping and comfort quilting to the lower edge provides a more comfortable and secure transfer. Popular with users with high or through hip amputations. Suitable for single or bi-lateral amputations. Offers full body support. To be applied on the bed. Also available with a commode aperture.
Loop fixings only.
Available material types:
- Polyester – Easy application. Glides and slides smoothly, dries quickly after washing.
- Superfine Plus – This fabric has been specifically chosen to assist with a sling that can be left behind a patient for extended periods.
- Wash at 71°CTumble dry low heat (max 50°C)

Active – end user is active and can participate in transfer

Functional Independence Measure
The Functional Independence Measure (FIM) scale assesses physical and cognitive disability. This scale focuses on the burden of care – that is, the level of disability indicating the burden of caring for them.
